Jenn-Air wine coolers use compressor-based cooling systems that produce vibration during operation. Excessive vibration can disturb wine sediment and affect aging. This notice provides guidance on installation and operation practices that minimize vibration impact on your wine collection.
Affected Models
All Jenn-Air built-in and freestanding wine coolers, including under-counter models and dual-zone units. Both RISE and NOIR design expressions.
Vibration Minimization
- Ensure the wine cooler is perfectly level — use a bubble level on the top surface
- Adjust the leveling feet so all four contact the floor firmly
- Do not install directly against a dishwasher or other vibrating appliance
- Use anti-vibration pads under the unit if installed on a hard floor
- Avoid slamming the glass door — gentle closure prevents vibration transfer to bottles
Temperature Stability
- Allow a newly installed wine cooler 24 hours to stabilize before loading wine
- Do not open the door frequently — each opening introduces warm air
- Keep the cooler at least half full — wine mass helps maintain stable temperature
- Position red wines in the warmer zone (upper) and whites in the cooler zone (lower) on dual-zone models
Urgency Level
Routine installation and care advisory. Important for collectors with fine or aged wines that are sensitive to vibration and temperature swings.
